Monthly Plugin Packs Releases – June 2021

Blog Monthly Plugin Packs Releases – June 2021

Every month, Centreon extends its catalog of Plugin Packs and implements new connectors to allow you to connect your monitoring with ITOps tools. The result: more visibility and observability capabilities. We also offer enhancements and fixes on existing Plugin Packs.

Here is our latest news on your best allies: the Plugin Packs!

New Plugin Packs of the Month

Track the devices supporting your end users’ connectivity

Following the addition of the SD-WAN and Meraki oriented packs, we’re further extending the coverage of Cisco access devices with the new Cisco WAP pack. Use Centreon to observe the behavior of your WiFi access points, from the physical layer to the application layer with connected clients and configured virtual access points.

The TP-Link SNMP pack allows the coverage of the devices of the same name, now covered with the appropriate controls to identify potential overconsumption of resources and as always, bandwidth consumption and packet errors.

Keep an eye on your containers and cloud instances

Many packs already exist to monitor your containers no matter how you instantiate or orchestrate them (Kubernetes, Docker and Swarm, etc.). A new capability is added this month with the ability to use information collected by a cAdvisor container with the cAdvisor API pack.

New additions to Azure monitoring capabilities, which cover the new services that you need to monitor to anticipate and detect failures affecting the performance of your applications (Azure Cache for Redis) or the user experience in your online content (Azure CDN).

Again on Azure, you now have the possibility to go beyond storage accounts, if you have set up groups of servers using the Storage Sync service, you can now monitor in real time the number of files synchronized, the volume of associated data, and detect potential errors.

This month’s enhancements and fixes

Special attention required on a few updates

To improve some Packs or Plugins, we are sometimes forced to reduce the compatibility of some historical packages.

The following Packs will require special attention upon updating them:

  • Infoblox SNMP (CPU and Memory services are unified in a System service).
  • Mobotix SNMP (Services models renaming and addition of discovery interface).
  • Qnap SNMP (Volume-Usage mode renamed and pool monitoring added).

If you use packs and plugins, make sure you communicate with  users on indicator behavior changes before you proceed with the update.

Enhancements

  • Time synchronization control for Hikvision devices.
  • Queue control for the Azure AppServicePlan service.
  • Additional metrics for NetApp array I/O monitoring.

Fixes

  • Errors in Linux SSH, Redis CLI, and Azure MySQL Pack commands.
  • Naming of the pack dedicated to Nginx Plus web server monitoring.

Kudos to our community members who have contributed to enhancements and fixes over the last few months:
