Glossary High Availability (HA)

A system or application that needs to be continuously operational. Availability is most often measured or ranked as a percentage of uptime in the course of a year. For example, if an application or server are deemed to have perfect high availability, they’ll be referred to as being “nine nine”—meaning high availability is guaranteed at 99.9999999%.
