Extension presentation
IT Managers wish to be more reactive on problems that may have a direct impact on their business activities.
Centreon Business Activity Monitoring offers a real time measurement of your production activity by agregating the states of different checkpoints that are monitored with Centreon. You will then be more aware of the global health of your IT which can help you to make the best decisions.
Centreon BAM uses an advanced computing engine of « Business Activity » (BA) measurement that is based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) collected by Centreon.

Accurate configuration of indicators
The configuration of KPI can be done very accurately and offers many possibilities in the creation of the BA. Thanks to the system of weighting and blocking states, the BA can be adapted to any concret case :
- Business indicators (application, quality of service, etc.)
- Checkpoints gathering (clusters, redundancy, etc.)

Quality of service measurement and notification process |
By associating Nagios service states to numerical values, Centreon BAM calculates in real time a value of your BA between 0 and 100.
When a BA goes below a defined threshold, users can be notified by Nagios just like it would do when regular hosts and services go down. It is therefore possible to be notified on BA only, without being notified by the hosts and services that act as KPI. |

Drill-Down feature
BA are composed of KPI that can be « services », « meta services » and also other BA. This BA inheritance system allows to make relevant real time indicators on a macro level regarding the integrity of your production environment.
The « Drill-Down » feature offers a great navigation flexibility to the users of Centreon BAM.
